What is LOUPE?

LOUPE is the new brand identity for Labelexpo Global Series, launching in January 2026. LOUPE stands for Labels & OUter Packaging Embellishment. The change is a symbol of LOUPE’s position as a driving force of innovation in our industry – ensuring it remains the global home for labels, with the widened lens towards flexible packaging and folding carton sectors.

How was the name chosen and why?

LOUPE represents a carefully considered evolution shaped by the industry it serves. Built on nearly six years of collaboration across the label, package printing, and converting community, the change was guided by extensive research and welcomed with strong support across the sector.

LOUPE is more than a name. While the acronym stands for Labels & OUter Packaging Embellishment, it also reflects the values that define our industry. Like the precision instrument, a loupe symbolizes attention to detail, insight, and the relentless pursuit of quality. It magnifies what others might miss, representing craftsmanship, clarity, and evaluation at the highest standards. 

At the same time, LOUPE looks forward: a future-proof name that reflects the industry’s evolution and resonates with the next generation of professionals. A loupe magnifier is an indispensable tool for measuring precision and quality of printing.

Does LOUPE mean the portfolio is no longer focused on labels?

No, labels remain at the heart of the portfolio. The evolution simply recognizes the broader impact and influence of label technologies across the entire packaging value chain. A survey of exhibitors at Labelexpo Europe 2025 showed that over 45 percent sold their products to both labels and flexible packaging converters. Registration data for Labelexpo Europe 2023 showed fully 40 percent of visitors registered an interest in flexible packaging as well as labels.

LOUPE honors Labelexpo's heritage while acknowledging that today's label converters are diversifying and bringing multiple technologies together under one roof. The show mirrors this same spirit, uniting the full spectrum of labels and package printing in one place while maintaining the core focus on labels.

What will change for exhibitors participating in future LOUPE events?

Nothing will change for exhibitors. You will continue to work with the same trusted team and benefit from the continued partnership build over four decades with Labelexpo. You will experience world-class events and reach a high-quality audience – now with an even broader scope across the package printing value chain for more business opportunities.

Will there be a change in cost for exhibitors or visitors?

No, the name change reflects changes in the market, it is not a commercial adjustment. Prices are determined based on a series of factors, such as venue, services etc. They are not dictated by the external identity of the portfolio.

What are the benefits for exhibitors?

Why does Labelexpo become LOUPE?

Labelexpo Global Series will become LOUPE (Labels & OUter Packaging Embellishment), effective from 2026. The first show under the new branding will be LOUPE Americas 2026. The change is set to reflect the show evolution in the past decade following the development of the labels, package printing and converting industry, which is experiencing:

  • Industry convergence around core technologies (digital, digital hybrid, and in-line production)
  • Market consolidation creating "one-stop" package printing operations
  • Disruptive technology with label converters diversifying into flexible packaging and folding cartons

The event portfolio will emerge as LOUPE from 2026, while Gulf Print & Pack and Labels & Labeling will align their visual identity.

Will there be any changes to show content?

The show will continue to focus on label converting technologies - inline flexo and rotary offset, digital and hybrid. 

What you WILL see:

  • The existing supplier base developing new technology for efficient production of labels, short run flexible packaging, and both inline and digital folding cartons
  • Technologies like inline flexo, digital and hybrid that are disrupting flexible packaging and folding cartons

What you will NOT see:

  • CI, gravure or sheetfed offset presses

Competition with general print shows like Drupa or packaging shows like Fachpack or Pack Expo.

Will there be changes to the organizing team?

No, there will be no changes to the organizing team. LOUPE retains all the expertise, relationships, and staff from Labelexpo.
